Danny Goler: the DMT laser and the Code of Reality

A red light on a wall. A claim that the wall is hiding the machinery.

REALITY CODE UNVERIFIED2021 claim / 2025 pilot report

Code-like visual experiences are reported. Their interpretation as an external code of reality remains unverified.

Danny Goler’s claim moves the mystery out of a wholly internal landscape and onto a visible patch of light. Participants say the pattern reveals structured symbols. The proposed leap is enormous: from seeing something code-like to seeing the underlying code of reality.

01 / The project’s claim in its own report

Goler’s 2025 pilot report describes recurring geometric and symbol-like perceptions while participants under DMT viewed a laser-generated light pattern. It offers a project-authored account of the phenomenon and interprets the reported consistency as worthy of investigation. The report’s publication category matters: IPI Letters treats News and Views differently from its usual peer-reviewed research. Appearing in a journal does not remove that distinction.

02 / What the witnesses reportedly share

The project reports similar descriptions across observers. The evidence question is how those descriptions were elicited, recorded, and compared. Agreement that a pattern resembles writing is different from independently reproducing the same sequence of symbols. The cited account does not give this archive an independently verified observation of a message with a decoded meaning. Participant reports establish a claimed perceptual event, not the proposed structure of the universe.

03 / Why proponents think this changes the DMT debate

Proponents emphasize the apparently stable location of the imagery and the possibility that different observers see something similar in the same external stimulus. That offers a more specific claim than a private encounter recalled afterward. It could motivate controlled comparison. But repeatability of an experience, if established, would still leave its explanation open: a recurring interaction between stimulus and perception need not be a recovered reality program.

04 / Gallimore’s alternative and the missing information test

Neuroscientist Andrew Gallimore’s January 2025 essay challenges the code interpretation and proposes laser speckle as a possible scaffold for psychedelic visual elaboration. That is an expert hypothesis, not a completed blinded replication. Controlled DMT brain-imaging research provides broader evidence that perception and brain organization change under the drug, without testing this particular project.

The useful next distinction is between a pattern and information. Can independent observers recover matching symbols under blinded conditions? Can the alleged code convey a result that was not suggested or already available? Without such evidence, ‘code’ remains an interpretation of appearance. This file examines the claims and sources rather than offering instructions for a hazardous drug-and-laser experiment.

The allegation, in brief

Danny Goler argues that code-like forms reported while viewing projected red laser light during a DMT experience expose something fundamental in reality. The project is known as Code of Reality. The claim goes beyond unusual perception: it assigns those perceived forms a role in the world’s underlying machinery. That larger interpretation has not been established by the sources in this file.

Where the archive stands

Goler’s January 2025 IPI Letters report describes a pilot involving more than 1,000 participants and accounts of geometric structures and moving symbols resembling Japanese katakana. That number is the author’s report, not an independently audited sample. The short article supplies no participant-level dataset, blinded comparison, or statistical test of exact agreement between observers. It lists formal controlled experiments as future work. The publisher classifies it as News and Views, a category screened editorially rather than subjected to its usual peer-review process. Publication records the claim; it does not certify an external code. The paper’s visual rendition of the experience is artwork, not a photograph of recovered information.

A pattern is not yet a decoded message

Andrew Gallimore’s January 2025 critique takes the reported perception seriously while challenging Goler’s explanation. He asks whether witnesses match actual sequences of symbols, rather than broad descriptions of geometry and writing. He proposes laser speckle—the granular interference pattern created by scattered coherent light—as a sensory scaffold that DMT might elaborate into complex imagery. This is a competing hypothesis, not a settled explanation. He also disputes the inference that apparently stable, externally located forms must be independent of the observer. His essay is valuable scrutiny, but it is not a blinded replication. The missing bridge is independently recoverable information. Similar descriptions cannot, by themselves, show that the perceived patterns encode anything. This archive’s assessment concerns the reality-code interpretation; it does not imply that witnesses fabricated their experiences. The project belongs beside simulation speculation and psychedelic perception, without evidence here of a covert operation.

CHECK THE TRAIL
  • Separate the author’s reported participant count from independently verified data.
  • Distinguish similar imagery from exact agreement on symbols and sequences.
  • Look for blinded controls, raw observations, and independent replication.
  • Ask what the alleged code predicts or encodes beyond its visual appearance.
If the wall carries a message, the test is whether strangers can recover the same message without being told what to find.
