World Trade Center 7
The building no aircraft struck.
No airliner struck Building 7. It stood through much of the day, then fell late in the afternoon. That difference from the towers is the reason this file needs its own chronology and its own engineering dispute.
01 / The building left in the disaster’s wake
WTC 7 was a 47-story building north of the main complex. Debris damage and fires followed the collapse of the towers, and firefighting was constrained by the disaster around it. NIST’s investigation proposes a sequence in which thermal expansion and connection failures led to an internal progressive collapse before the visible exterior descended. The collapse video is the end of that proposed sequence, not a view of every internal event.
02 / What the cameras and witnesses establish
Videos permit timing measurements and comparisons between the rooftop structures and the exterior facade. NIST acknowledges a brief interval of free-fall acceleration in part of the visible descent. That concession matters: readers should not be told the interval never occurred. The dispute is what removed support before it. The FAQ also addresses the evidence it considered concerning an explosive initiation, rather than relying only on how the facade looks.
03 / A published challenge to the official model
Leroy Hulsey and colleagues at the University of Alaska Fairbanks issued a structural reevaluation challenging a fire-driven explanation. Their project was funded by Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth; the university project page provides reports and supporting material. Funding identifies context, not an automatic refutation. The report gives proponents something more substantial to discuss than a short video clip: alternative modeling and assumptions that can be compared with NIST’s.
04 / The question beneath the argument
Which model reproduces the observed sequence under justified assumptions about the structure, damage, connections, and temperatures? NIST attributes the collapse to fire-induced failure; the UAF team disputes that pathway. A criticism of one model does not independently prove planted explosives, establish the placement of charges, or identify perpetrators. Those are further claims needing further evidence. Keep the engineering disagreement visible without silently turning it into a solved criminal case.

The collapse of WTC 7 is alleged to prove explosives were used across the World Trade Center complex.
Where the archive stands
NIST investigated WTC 7 separately and concluded that uncontrolled fires led to progressive structural failure. Claims about the towers and Building 7 require separate engineering evidence.
The same date does not make two buildings the same case.
